Leicester City goalkeeper Demi Lambourne has signed a new two-year deal with the club according to reports on The Foxes’ official website.
The 26-year-old has been with Leicester City throughout their journey so far in the elite game after joining the club in 2018 from Oxford United.
Lambourne was a member of the Leicester City team which were promoted to the Barclays Women’s Super League in 2020/2021. The player made 14 league appearances for the club last season with first-choice goalkeeper Kirstie Levell out injured. Lambourne proved to be a very capable deputy in her club’s time of need.
After signing her new contract with the club, Lambourne said “I am really proud and really thankful to the Club for extending my stay here. When you look at the facilities, the staff we have here, and the girls in the team, it was a no-brainer for me to sign the contract.
“The jump into WSL football last season was tough, and we knew it would be tough. However, I believe we can push on next season and finish higher in the table – we are continually looking to improve.”
Lambourne follows young forward Missy Goodwin in signing a new contract with the club this summer.
