Leicester City forward Shannon O’Brien has signed a new contract with the club according to reports on The Foxes’ official club website.
The 20-year-old starred for the East Midlands club in her first season in the Barclays Women’s Super League in 2021/2022 and she was crowned their Player of the Year.
O’Brien made 21 appearances for Leicester City in the top flight, netting her only goal in a 1-0 home victory over Brighton & Hove Albion in January. The forward is expected to go from strength-to-strength in the coming years and it is therefore great news for Leicester City that she has opted to sign a new deal with the club.
After signing on again at The King Power Stadium, O’Brien said “I am delighted that we got the deal done. We’ve been speaking about this for some time and I’m happy it has been announced. I am looking forward to the coming season and paying back the faith the Club has shown in me.
“I know what I want to achieve in the coming season, and I believe the team will come back in stronger. It’s important to reflect on what we went through last year, and hopefully we can use that experience to our advantage.”
O’Brien joins Missy Goodwin and Demi Lambourne in signing a new contract with Leicester City this summer.
