Liverpool defender Parry joins Hibernian on loan

Liverpool defender Lucy Parry has joined Park’s Motor Group Scottish Women’s Premier League 1 side Hibernian on loan according to reports on the Leith-based club’s official website.

The 18-year-old has been in and around the Liverpool first team squad for the last couple of seasons but she needs regular football to develop. Parry should now have the opportunity to get more minutes under her belt with loan club Hibs.

Parry has come through the academy system at Liverpool. She has made six Barclays Women’s Championship appearances for the Merseyside club so far but has so often found herself named amongst the substitutes. The defender was a member of the Liverpool team which won promotion back to the Barclays Women’s Super League last season.

After completing her loan move to Hibs, Parry said “I’m really excited to be joining the club and I can’t wait to get started.

“I’ve seen the team’s goals for this season, so I can’t wait to meet all the girls, get playing and get started.

“I can’t wait to meet the fans! I just want to show them that I can give my all to help the team and playing in front of them will mean everything so, yeah, I can’t wait to play at this amazing stadium.”

Hibernian are next in action against Glasgow Women in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday.
