Coventry United attacker Liv Fergusson has completed a move to Park’s Motor Group Scottish Women’s Premier League 1 club Celtic.
Celtic announced the news this morning via a post on their official club Twitter account.
Fergusson moves north of the border after spending one season at Coventry United. The player made 20 appearances for The Red and Greens while she scored one goal. Fergusson made a significant contribution as Coventry United successfully avoided relegation to the FA Women’s National League on the final day of the season despite being hit with a 10-point deduction.
The forward has a wealth of experience in the English elite game. Fergusson started out with Aston Villa before moving to Bristol City to kick on her career in the top flight. The player spent two-and-a-half years with The Robins before going on to enjoy one-season spells with Yeovil Town, Sheffield United and Leicester City. After helping Leicester City to the Barclays Women’s Championship title in 2020/2021, Fergusson left The Foxes and remained in the second tier with Coventry United last season.
Fergusson has been handed the number 19 shirt by Celtic and she could make her debut for the club against Hibernian at The Excelsior Stadium this weekend.
