Durham announce trio of contract extensions

Durham have announced that Naoisha McAloon, Bridget Galloway and Liz Ejupi have all signed deals with the club for the new season.

The Wildcats confirmed the news in three announcements on their official club website throughout the day.

Goalkeeper McAloon’s new deal was the first to be announced by Durham. The Republic of Ireland stopper joined Lee Sanders’ side in the January transfer window and claimed the club’s first-choice goalkeeping jersey. McAloon made eight appearances for Durham in the Barclays Women’s Championship last season in which she kept three clean sheets.

Durham next announced the news that forward Galloway has signed on again with the club. Galloway appeared in 19 of Durham’s 22 league fixtures last season. She has been a regular in the side since joining the club from neighbours Sunderland in 2020.

The final announcement of the day was the new deal for Ejupi. The experienced forward joined The Wildcats last summer and netted twice in 15 Barclays Women’s Championship outings for the club. Ejupi made just seven league starts for Durham last season and she will be hoping to kick on this year.

Durham begin the new season with a North East derby against Sunderland at Maiden Castle tomorrow. The Wildcats will be backed by a packed out crowd with the game sold out.
