Arsenal have confirmed that ticket sales for Saturday’s North London Derby fixture against Tottenham Hotspur have now exceeded 48,000.
The two local rivals meet at The Emirates Stadium as they contest the first North London Derby of the season in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
Ticket sales have gone through the roof over the last couple of months and The Gunners confirmed during last night UEFA Women’s Champions League Round 2 first leg tie against Ajax that more than 48,000 tickets have now been sold for Saturday’s derby fixture.
With three days to go until the game, there is a very real possibility that more than 50,000 fans will attend a Barclays Women’s Super League fixture for the very first time in the competition’s history.
Saturday’s opponents Spurs hold the current attendance record for a Barclays Women’s Super League fixture. In November 2019, 38,262 attended the North London Derby fixture at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, a game that Arsenal won 2-0 thanks to second half goals from Kim Little and Vivianne Miedema. The Gunners are now set to take that proud record from Spurs this weekend.
