PREVIEW: Everton v Manchester United

Manchester United will be hoping to bounce back from their midweek defeat to Durham in the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup when they travel to Walton Hall Park to face Everton in their latest Barclays Women’s Super League fixture on Sunday.

The Red Devils went down 3-1 on penalties to the second tier side after being held to a 2-2 draw in normal time. Everton were also taken to penalties by their opponents Aston Villa but they secured a 4-2 victory.

Everton go into the match having won three of their five Barclays Women’s Super League matches so far this season. Manager Brian Sørensen is set to welcome back Dutch forward Katja Snoeijs after she missed the midweek shootout victory over Aston Villa but the game comes too soon for Nicoline Sørensen. On loan Manchester United goalkeeper Emily Ramsey is not permitted to play against her parent club.

While Manchester United have struggled in the FA Women’s Continental League Cup, they have excelled in the league and travel to Merseyside on the back of four consecutive wins. The Red Devils could welcome back Grace Clinton and Alessia Russo for their latest match, however, defenders Aoife Mannion and Ona Batlle remain sidelined.

The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between Everton and Manchester United kicks-off at 2pm on Sunday.
