Chelsea forward Fran Kirby has been ruled out of international duty with England later this month with Everton loanee Jess Park being called into the squad in her place.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via a media update from The Football Association this afternoon.
England head coach Sarina Wiegman named her 25-player squad for the November camp on Tuesday. She did confirm in a press conference following the announcement that Chelsea forward Kirby would be assessed this week following a recent illness. The player has now been assessed and it has been determined that she will remain with her club as she continues her recovery.
With Kirby out of action, Wiegman has turned to Everton youngster Park to fill her place. The 21-year-old is currently thriving with regular first team football at Walton Hall Park following her season-long loan move from Manchester City. The youngster was a member of the England squad which faced the United States and the Czech Republic in international friendly matches last month.
England’s final camp of a successful 2022 sees them travel to Spain to take on Japan and Norway in international friendly matches. The Lionesses face Japan on Friday 11 November before taking on Norway on Tuesday 15 November. Both matches will be staged at the Pinatar Arena.
