Charlton Athletic complete the signing of Billericay Town keeper Gray

Charlton Athletic have completed the signing of Billericay Town goalkeeper Jess Gray on a deal until the end of the season.

The Addicks announced the news via an update on their official club website this morning.

The keeper has made four appearances for third tier club Ricay this season and has been voted the opposition Player of the Match on two occasions. Gray was formerly on the books of Charlton Athletic’s neighbours London City Lionesses and she made her debut for The Pride in the early rounds of last season’s Vitality Women’s FA Cup. Gray has also previously turned out for the University of Kent and Cambridge United.

After completing her move to Charlton Athletic, Gray said “I am really delighted, it is a great club! I have come in and the girls have all been really nice to me, there is a great atmosphere.

“I am a keen shot-stopper, I like to play out from the back, being vocal and being involved in the back-four as well.”

Gray will compete for the Charlton Athletic goalkeeping jersey with first choice goalkeeper Sian Rogers and her deputy Poppy Soper. The youngster could go straight into the squad for The Addicks’ latest match against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park this afternoon.
