PREVIEW: Chelsea v Paris Saint-Germain

Stamford Bridge will host UEFA Women’s Champions League football for the first time since 2016 when Chelsea take on Paris Saint-Germain in a group stage fixture on Thursday evening.

The Blues were defeated 3-0 by German club VfL Wolfsburg in their only previous European appearance at The Bridge and Emma Hayes’ side will be hoping to record a first UEFA Women’s Champions League victory at the venue on Matchday 6 in this season’s competition.

Chelsea manager Hayes has no new injury concerns to contend with ahead of her side’s latest match. Pernille Harder is sidelined until after Christmas as she continues to recover from hamstring surgery while Melanie Leupolz is on maternity leave. Despite the South West Londoners being top of their group, they need a positive result to make absolutely sure that they end the group stage as winners.

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Gérard Prêcheur continues to be without the services of captain Paulina Dudek and forward Marie-Antoinette Katoto with the pair recovering from an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries. Marina Georgieva is another player who could be missing.

The UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage fixture between Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain kicks-off at 8pm on Thursday evening. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
