More than 35,000 tickets have already been sold for Arsenal’s upcoming Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.
The two title rivals are scheduled to meet in N7 on Sunday 15 January. The fixture could prove to be a significant indicator for the potential destination of this season’s Barclays Women’s Super League title.
Arsenal have this morning provided a ticket update via a post on their official club Twitter account which has confirmed that ticket sales have exceeded 35,000.
The Gunners are staging more matches at the club’s traditional home of the Emirates Stadium this season than ever before. The move has received a positive reaction from fans with some huge attendances having already been recorded.
Arsenal’s North London derby fixture against Tottenham Hotspur in September attracted an all-time record attendance for a Barclays Women’s Super League match of 47,367 while 40,604 fans were present as The Gunners were defeated 3-2 by Manchester United in November.
With 12 days to go until matchday, there is a chance that Arsenal could yet set another attendance record in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
