Lewes have completed the signing of winger Aqsa Mushtaq on a free transfer.
The Rookettes announced news of the transfer via an update on their official club website.
Mushtaq has most recently been playing her football in Greece with Ergotelis. Prior to this, the 24-year-old enjoyed a spell combining football with her studies in the United States while she also played in Italy with Napoli.
The midfielder joins a Lewes side that are thriving under the guidance of head coach Scott Booth. The Sussex club have enjoyed a really solid season which has resulted in them battling for a place in the top half of the Barclays Women’s Championship table and going close to reaching the quarter-finals of the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup for the first time. Mushtaq should be another useful addition who can help drive the club forward further.
After completing her move to The Dripping Pan, Mushtaq said “It’s a great environment to be in, the girls seem like a really great group and I’m excited to get started.
“I hope to bring good vibes, good charisma, score some goals and hopefully get some wins for the team.”
Mushtaq could make her Lewes debut when the club travel to Ipswich Town for a Vitality Women’s FA Cup fourth round tie on Sunday afternoon.
