Manchester City midfielder Losada joins AS Roma

Manchester City midfielder Vicky Losada completed a move to Italian club AS Roma prior to the closure of the January transfer window.

The Cityzens announced news of the transfer via an update on their official club website this afternoon.

The 31-year-old joined Manchester City in summer 2021 after leaving former club FC Barcelona. Losada has gone on to make 30 appearances for Gareth Taylor’s side in all competitions while she has scored nine goals. The midfielder was an FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup winner with Manchester City last season while she has contributed to solid runs of form in the Barclays Women’s Super League and in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup.

Losada was set to be out of contract with Manchester City this summer and the decision has been made to allow the player to leave during the January transfer window. The midfielder joins an AS Roma side that are currently top of the Serie A Femminile TIM table. ‘The Magic One’ lead second-placed club Juventus by five points. AS Roma are arguably Italian football’s most rapidly developing side and a player with a wealth of experience like Losada will only help the growth of the team.

AS Roma are next in action in the Serie A Femminile TIM on Saturday when they travel to Como.
