West Ham United midfielder Brooke Cairns has joined FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division club Ipswich Town on a dual-registration basis.
The Tractor Girls confirmed the transfer this evening via an update on their official club website.
Cairns joined parent club West Ham United in summer 2021 after spending her youth with Merseyside clubs Everton and Liverpool. The 19-year-old has made a handful of appearances for The Hammers to date but she has largely found playing opportunities difficult to come by in East London.
The youngster spent a period with Hashtag United last season and she will now enjoy a similar spell with ambitious FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division club Ipswich Town.
After joining The Tractor Girls, Cairns said “I’m delighted to be here, finally it is here and I can’t wait to get started.
“I spoke to the manager and things felt really natural. When things feel natural, it makes it a really easy decision to make. Joe (Sheehan) has been really positive and I have to thank him for the opportunity.
“My number one aim is to help the team push for promotion and for me, on a personal note, I want to play as much as I can and develop as a player.
“I’m hoping to score goals and provide assists and I am really looking forward to playing in front of the fans.”
Cairns could make her Ipswich Town debut against Watford at Grosvenor Vale on Sunday.
