Former Manchester United and Manchester City academy star Lara Miller has left Barclays Women’s Championship club Sheffield United.
The Blades announced the news this morning via a squad update on their official club website.
Miller joined the South Yorkshire club a year ago after leaving their Barclays Women’s Championship rivals Lewes. The player has gone on to make six appearances for Sheffield United in all competitions. The youngster’s progress at Bramall Lane has been hindered by a hamstring injury, although Miller is now back to full fitness. The defender’s only outing in a Sheffield United shirt this season came in the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup group stage. She featured as a substitute in the 3-0 defeat to Everton at Glanford Park.
The 20-year-old started out in the Manchester United academy system before going on to represent Manchester City. Miller returned to the red side of the city for a second spell before moving into the senior game with Barclays Women’s Championship club Lewes in 2021. The player boasts lots of potential and she can undoubtedly grow with further experience and exposure in the women’s game in the coming years.
Shortly after leaving Sheffield United, Miller was unveiled as a new signing at third tier club Burnley.
