Tickets for England’s April international against Australia in Brentford have sold out a little over 24 hours after going on-sale.
The Football Association announced details of the Lionesses’ latest international friendly against this summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup co-hosts on Monday evening.
Tickets went on-sale exclusively to My England Football members at lunchtime yesterday before general sale commenced this afternoon. It is understood that the last remaining tickets were snapped up in a matter of minutes following the opening of the general sale window.
England will face Australia at the Gtech Community Stadium, home of Brentford FC, on Tuesday 11 April 2023 with the match kicking-off at 7.45pm. The Lionesses will take on the CommBank Matildas just five days after contesting the 2023 Women’s Finalissima with Brazil at a sold out Wembley Stadium.
The April international window provides England head coach Sarina Wiegman with another opportunity to assess her squad ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023. The final squad announcement is edging ever closer and the back-to-back April internationals are set to be the last opportunities for players to stake their claims for places in England’s World Cup squad.
England have progressed with their preparations for the tournament this month as they have competed at the 2023 Arnold Clark Cup. The Lionesses will win that tournament for a second consecutive year if they avoid defeat against Belgium in Bristol this evening.
