PREVIEW: Chelsea v Arsenal

Chelsea and Arsenal will be hoping to take another step towards Wembley when they contest a Vitality Women’s FA Cup fifth round tie at Kingsmeadow on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues are the current trophy holders after defeating Manchester City 3-2 after extra-time in last season’s final. Arsenal remain the competition’s most successful club with 14 trophy wins, however, it has been seven years since The Gunners last lifted the Vitality Women’s FA Cup.

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes does not yet know her starting XI for Sunday with players still returning from international duty. The Blues are expected to be without Fran Kirby who has a knee injury while Pernille Harder and Kateřina Svitková are out for the longer term.

Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall must also wait to assess the full fitness levels of his side. Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema have been ruled out for the season while goalkeeper Sabrina D’Angelo and forward Lina Hurtig have returned from international duty with injuries. Youngster Teyah Goldie is not yet fit to return.

The Vitality Women’s FA Cup fifth round tie between Chelsea and Arsenal is scheduled to kick-off at 2pm on Sunday afternoon. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
