Ticket sales for Arsenal’s UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final, second leg tie against VfL Wolfsburg have now exceeded 42,000.
The Gunners provided their latest ticket update via a post on their official club Twitter account this evening.
Today marks the 10-year anniversary of Arsenal’s last UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final meeting with VfL Wolfsburg on home soil. The North Londoners lost 2-0 in front of just 1,406 fans in Boreham Wood. There is every chance that Arsenal will be cheered on by a sell-out crowd at the Emirates Stadium in their latest home semi-final tie with more than a fortnight remaining to clear around 20,000 tickets.
Earlier this week, Arsenal revealed that 8,000 tickets had been purchased within the first 24 hours of sales. The club have averaged around 2,500 sales per day ever since. Should that solid average continue, The Gunners could be announcing a sell-out by next weekend.
Arsenal travel to Germany for the first leg of their semi-final tie on Sunday 23 April before welcoming VfL Wolfsburg back to the Emirates Stadium on Monday 1 May. The winners of the tie will face either Chelsea or FC Barcelona in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final in Eindhoven, The Netherlands on 3 June.
