Tottenham Hotspur confirm return to training for long-term absentees

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the news that long-term absentees Ellie Brazil and Ramona Petzelberger have returned to training.

The Lilywhites provided the update via a post on their official club website earlier today.

Forward Brazil joined Spurs last summer after opting to leave former club Brighton & Hove Albion. The 24-year-old was able to make just four appearances for the North Londoners in all competitions before rupturing her Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) back in early October.

German international midfielder Petzelberger also joined Spurs during the summer 2022 transfer window. The player was included in the matchday squads for Spurs’ first two games this season but she has not been seen on the pitch since.

Both players have now been pictured back on the training pitch, although the pair will need to spend a further period rebuilding their fitness. All of Spurs’ long-term absentees are now either back in training or they are match-fit, helping to boost competition for places in the squad going into the business end of the season.

Spurs have five games remaining to preserve their top flight status for another season. The North Londoners currently occupy ninth position in the Barclays Women’s Super League table but they are just three points above the relegation zone.
