PREVIEW: Everton v Arsenal

Arsenal will be hoping to keep their slim Barclays Women’s Super League title hopes alive when they travel to Walton Hall Park to face Everton on Wednesday evening.

The Gunners are six points adrift of the league summit with three games to play. Anything less than three points will surely bring Arsenal’s title push to an abrupt end. The game also provides an incentive for Everton. A point for The Blue Girls should be enough to secure them a top half of the table finish in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

Everton manager Brian Sørensen remains without defender Gabby George who is out for the remainder of the season with a hamstring injury. Loanee Jess Park has returned to parent club Manchester City with an injury and is therefore no longer a member of the squad. Full-back Lucy Hope is available for selection following illness.

Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall has confirmed that forward Lina Hurtig is still not fit to return, however, Steph Catley and Caitlin Foord are in contention to play some minutes. The Gunners remain without the services of long-term absentees Beth Mead, Vivianne Miedema, Leah Williamson, Kim Little and Laura Wienroither.

The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between Everton and Arsenal kicks-off at 6.15pm on Wednesday evening. The game is sold out.
