PREVIEW: Manchester United v Manchester City

Manchester United will be hoping to claim the derby bragging rights whilst maintaining their Barclays Women’s Super League title push when Manchester City are the visitors to the Leigh Sports Village this evening.

The Red Devils must win the game to take the title race into the final day of the season. Anything less than three points will see them battle for the runners-up spot. Opponents Manchester City need the win to put pressure on third-placed Arsenal who currently occupy the final UEFA Women’s Champions League qualification spot.

Manchester United head coach Marc Skinner is not thought to have any fresh injury concerns to contend with ahead of his side’s latest match. Defender Maria Thorisdottir is expected to be the only absentee.

Manchester City head coach Gareth Taylor has also confirmed that there is little change on the injury front. Defenders Laia Aleixandri and Alanna Kennedy have both been ruled out of action for the remainder of season while there are no positive updates on the fitness of Sandy MacIver and Mary Fowler.

The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between Manchester United and Manchester City kicks-off at 6.45pm this evening. The match has been declared a sell-out with no further tickets expected to become available.
