Midfielder Chloe Peplow has announced the news that she is leaving relegated Barclays Women’s Super League club Reading.
The 24-year-old took to her personal Instagram account to announce the news earlier today.
Peplow joined Reading in summer 2021 after leaving her former club Tottenham Hotspur. The midfielder made 13 appearances for Reading in the Barclays Women’s Super League in 2021/2022 before enjoying loans spells at both Crystal Palace and Southampton this season.
Earlier today, Reading announced the news that they are to go part-time next season. Peplow’s announcement came shortly after, however, the player always seemed likely to leave the Select Car Leasing Stadium this summer regardless of the club’s future direction.
Announcing her Reading exit, Peplow said “After two years with Reading, the time has come to move on and pursue new opportunities.
“Grateful for the time spent at the club with an amazing bunch of girls.
“Wish the club all the best for the future.”
Peplow’s next career move is not yet known, however, it would be no surprise to see her playing in the Barclays Women’s Championship again next season. The player made a really positive impression while on loan at Southampton but it is unknown whether head coach Marieanne Spacey-Cale will offer Peplow a permanent deal.
