Bristol City defender Layzell signs new two-year deal

Bristol City defender Naomi Layzell has signed a two-year contract extension with the club.

The Robins announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

Layzell has come through the youth ranks at Bristol City and she has gone on to become a regular in the side. The 19-year-old started 20 of Bristol City’s 22 matches in the Barclays Women’s Championship this season as The Robins went on to secure the league title and promotion back to the top flight.

The youngster is set for an exciting future in the game and Bristol City will be pleased to have secured her services for another two years.

After signing on again at Ashton Gate, Layzell said “I’m delighted to have signed a new deal with the club I’ve been at for the last three seasons.

“I’m excited for the challenge ahead and to be going up as part of the group who won the title last season. We know it’s going to be a tough test but the facilities we have and the brilliant staff group behind us will give us the best chance to achieve what we’re capable of.”

Layzell is the seventh Bristol City player to sign a new contract with the club during the close season.
