Birmingham City full-back Harris agrees new long-term deal

Birmingham City full-back Martha Harris has agreed to sign a two-year contract extension with the club ahead of the new season.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from the Blues this afternoon.

Harris joined Birmingham City last summer following her release by former club Manchester United. The player went on to make 10 appearances for the Blues in the Barclays Women’s Championship in which she scored one goal. Harris made a positive impact for Birmingham City when fit but she missed almost five months of action with a serious knee injury.

With the defender having enjoyed a solid second half of the season in 2022/2023, Harris will be hoping to hit the ground running next term.

After agreeing her new deal with Birmingham City, Harris said “I can’t wait to get back to it. Pre-season starts next week and I’ve worked hard over the summer and I’m ready to go.

“I was very frustrated with my injury last season, so when I could get back onto the pitch, I just wanted to contribute to the team as much as I could.”

Birmingham City have now extended the deals of goalkeeper Lucy Thomas and defenders Siobhan Wilson and Harris so far this summer.
