Ipswich Town winger Grey joins Lewes

Ipswich Town winger Anna Grey has agreed to join Barclays Women’s Championship club Lewes on a free transfer.

The Rooks confirmed the news via a post on their official club website just a short time ago.

Grey has made the breakthrough at senior level with The Tractor Girls. The 21-year-old joined Ipswich Town from Tottenham Hotspur’s WSL Academy side and she quickly forced her way into the first team at her latest club.

The winger scored nine goals in 21 appearances for Ipswich Town in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division this season, helping the club to finish the campaign as runners-up. Grey also featured for Ipswich Town as they took on her new club Lewes in the fourth round of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup.

Grey has been training in a high-performing environment at Ipswich Town and she will now be looking forward to stepping up again with new club Lewes.

It has been a busy day at The Dripping Pan with Lewes making two additions to their squad. The Sussex club also completed the signing of Northern Ireland international midfielder Caragh Hamilton this morning. The club are expected to make further additions before the new season kicks-off at the end of August.
