Charlton Athletic teenager Mary Bashford has signed her first professional contract with the club.
The Addicks announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.
Bashford has been in and around the Charlton Athletic senior squad for the last two seasons. She made her debut for the club in the group stage of the 2021/2022 FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup.
After playing a bit-part role for The Addicks in 2021/2022, Bashford became a more important member of the Charlton Athletic team this season. She made 12 appearances for the club in all competitions while she was a regular in head coach Karen Hills’ matchday squads.
Bashford has an exciting future in the game and she will get the opportunity to continue to develop with Charlton Athletic after signing a professional contract with the club.
Speaking after signing her new deal, Bashford said “I’m delighted to be signing my first professional contract with Charlton. I’ve loved every moment of my development through the younger age groups and it’s a dream to be playing alongside the players I idolised growing up.
“It’s a special club with a wonderful group of players and staff. I can’t wait to be back and see the fans again!”
Further squad news will be provided by Charlton Athletic in due course.
