Birmingham City’s teenage defender Jenner signs first professional deal

Birmingham City’s teenage defender Abbi Jenner has signed her first professional contract with the club.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from the Blues this morning. Jenner has signed on with Birmingham City for the next two seasons.

The 18-year-old has come through the Birmingham City youth ranks and she has gone on to break into the first team environment at St Andrew’s. Jenner made her senior debut in a FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup group stage match against London City Lionesses in December 2021. She has since added a further five senior appearances to her tally.

Jenner will now be hoping to increase her first team involvement at St Andrew’s after agreeing professional terms with the Blues.

After signing her first professional contract with Birmingham City, Jenner said “For me personally, it’s a dream come true. I’ve been at this Club for 10 years and it is everything I’ve ever dreamed of.

“I’m grateful to everyone that has helped me. It’s amazing to play for this Club. To walk out at St Andrew’s is an amazing feeling.”

Jenner follows Siobhan Wilson, Lucy Thomas, Martha Harris and Jade Pennock in signing a new contract with Birmingham City this summer.
