Former Ipswich Town midfielder Brasero-Carreira joins Lewes

Former Ipswich Town midfielder Sarah Brasero-Carreira has joined Barclays Women’s Championship club Lewes on a free transfer.

The Rooks announced the news via a post on their official club website this evening.

Brasero-Carreira left former club Ipswich Town earlier this summer after scoring seven goals in 43 appearances for the Suffolk side in all competitions. The 18-year-old made 19 appearances for The Tractor Girls in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division last season while she scored four goals. Brasero-Carreira was a member of an Ipswich Town side that finished the season as runners-up on goal difference.

The youngster is very much one for the future and she will be hoping to shine in the Barclays Women’s Championship with Lewes. Brasero-Carreira joins a Lewes team that enjoyed a solid campaign under the guidance of new head coach Scott Booth in 2022/2023.

Four players have now joined Lewes in the summer transfer window. Latest signing Brasero-Carreira is the second player to arrive at The Dripping Pan having played for Ipswich Town last season. The Rooks have also added former Tractor Girl Anna Grey to their squad. Caragh Hamilton and Maria Farrugia are the other new arrivals.

Lewes are expected to make further squad additions in the coming weeks.
