Spurs complete signing of Swiss international defender Bühler

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Swiss international defender Luana Bühler on a two-year deal.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from the North Londoners this morning.

Bühler joins Spurs after spending the last five years with German club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. The defender has been a member of a team that has been a constant fixture in the top half of the FLYERALARM Frauen-Bundesliga table in recent seasons. In addition to domestic outings, Bühler has also represented TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in the UEFA Women’s Champions League in her time with the club.

On the international stage, Bühler has made 38 senior appearances for the Swiss national team while she has scored one goal. The player represented her country at the UEFA Women’s EURO last summer.

Bühler is new Spurs head coach Robert Vilahamn’s first signing for his new club. The former BK Häcken boss was appointed into his new position yesterday.

Spurs finished the 2022/2023 campaign in ninth position in the Barclays Women’s Super League table. The club flirted with relegation after enduring a long winless run mid-season. Vilahamn will want to put his stamp on the squad to ensure that the club push on up the table this season.
