Charlton Athletic midfielder Freda Ayisi has signed a one-year contract extension with the club ahead of the new season.
The Addicks announced news of Ayisi’s new deal via a post on their official club website earlier today.
Ayisi joined the South East Londoners last summer after leaving their Barclays Women’s Championship rivals Lewes. The player went on to make 20 appearances for Charlton Athletic in the Barclays Women’s Championship in which she scored two goals. Ayisi is an important member of the Charlton Athletic team and the club have ensured that they have retained her services for another season.
After signing on again with The Addicks, Ayisi said “I’m delighted to sign for another year! I’ve been working really hard in the break, so hopefully I can build from last season, and express myself on the pitch.”
Ayisi is the seventh member of Charlton Athletic’s 2022/2023 squad to sign on again for the new season. Mary Bashford, Jess Gray, Angela Addison, Kiera Skeels, Beth Roe, Sophie O’Rourke and Mia Ross have also signed fresh terms with the South East Londoners.
Charlton Athletic kick-off the 2023/2024 Barclays Women’s Championship season with a home fixture against Sheffield United at The Valley on Sunday 27 August 2023.
