WC FIXTURES: Promotion hopefuls Birmingham City start at Blackburn Rovers

Barclays Women’s Championship promotion hopefuls Birmingham City will start the 2023/2024 season against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

The Blues are many people’s favourites for the title as things stand and Darren Carter’s side will come up against a Blackburn Rovers outfit under the leadership of new boss Simon Parker on opening day.

Two sides that could enjoy strong seasons in Charlton Athletic and Sheffield United will meet at The Valley while Crystal Palace will play host to part-time Reading at Sutton United FC.

Lewes will stage a tasty encounter against Southampton, Durham travel to Wealdstone to take on newly-promoted Watford while London City Lionesses make the long trip to Sunderland on the opening weekend.

The fixture between Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City at Ewood Park will open the season on Saturday 26 August 2023 while the other five games will be staged on Sunday 27 August 2023.

Sunday 27 August 2023: Crystal Palace v Reading (VBS Community Stadium, 2pm)

Sunday 27 August 2023: Charlton Athletic v Sheffield United (The Valley, 3pm)

Sunday 27 August 2023: Lewes v Southampton (The Dripping Pan, 4pm)
