Lewes have completed the signing of former Arsenal and West Ham United defender Grace Garrad.
The Rooks announced the news via a post on their official club website earlier today.
Garrad is a bright young player who is yet to really make her mark on the senior game. The defender started her career at Arsenal where she made the first team bench on a couple occasions but she more often found herself representing the club’s WSL Academy League side.
The youngster’s first taste of senior football came during a loan spell at Crystal Palace where she made her professional debut.
Upon the expiry of her contract with Arsenal, Garrad joined West Ham United but she again found minutes hard to come by. The player has most-recently been playing her football in the Norwegian Toppserien with Stabæk.
Garrad has not yet reached her full potential but she could really develop with new club Lewes. Head coach Scott Booth has built a youthful squad which will undoubtedly grow and progress in the coming years.
Lewes boss Booth has now added eight new faces to his squad this summer. In addition to Garrad, Caragh Hamilton, Anna Grey, Maria Farrugia, Sarah Brasero-Carreira, Hollie Olding, Reanna Blades and Grace Riglar have all moved to The Dripping Pan.
