Full-back Dixon leaves Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn Rovers have announced the news that full-back Chloe Dixon has left the club at the end of her contract.

The Lancashire club announced Dixon’s departure via a post on their official club website this morning.

Dixon has spent the last two seasons with Blackburn Rovers after joining the club from Sheffield United in summer 2021. The defender has gone on to make 28 appearances for the club in the Barclays Women’s Championship while she scored one goal. Dixon left Blackburn Rovers for a short period last summer but she swiftly returned to the club for a second year.

The defender is the fifth player to leave Blackburn Rovers this summer. Veteran forward Camilla Kur Larsen retired at the end of the season while Ellie Leek, Saffron Jordan and Natasha Fenton have all left the club.

Blackburn Rovers’ summer departures will be seen as relatively high-profile therefore the club will need to recruit well in the coming weeks. Former Manchester United youngsters Chloe Williams and Niamh Murphy have signed permanent contracts with Blackburn Rovers and recently became the club’s first new arrivals of the summer. A new striker is a necessity while the club may also be keen to attract more experience.
