London City Lionesses have completed the signing of Bristol City defender Maddi Wilde on a season-long loan deal.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this afternoon.
Wilde has come through the Bristol City youth ranks and she has made 13 appearances for the club in the Barclays Women’s Championship over the last two seasons. The teenager is one for the future at Ashton Gate with Wilde held in high regard by Bristol City. With the club transitioning into the Barclays Women’s Super League this season, Wilde cannot be guaranteed minutes therefore the next step of her development will be at London City Lionesses.
After joining The Pride, Wilde said “I heard about the new set-up at K Sports [Cobdown] and it really made me want to come here.
“It feels like a really nice environment to play in and I spoke to other players who felt the same way about the Club. I know what London City is trying to achieve and I’m looking forward to trying to help the team push towards that.”
Wilde becomes London City Lionesses’ third signing of the summer transfer window following the recent additions of Connie Scofield and Sophie Hillyerd.
