Aston Villa defender Maz Pacheco has signed a new two-year deal with the club ahead of the new season.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Villans this afternoon.
Pacheco has spent the last two seasons with Aston Villa after joining the club from West Ham United in summer 2021. The full-back has been an ever-present for the Midlands club in the Barclays Women’s Super League, starting all 44 matches. Pacheco is one of the most underrated players in the Aston Villa side and she will be hoping to continue to shine after extending her contract with the club.
The defender is the second player to sign a new contract at Aston Villa this summer. French midfielder Kenza Dali has also signed fresh terms with The Villans.
Aston Villa head coach Carla Ward has had an excellent summer of recruitment. She has retained the key members of the 2022/2023 side whilst adding some really exciting young talent to the squad.
The Villans enjoyed a hugely successful season in 2022/2023 with the club finishing the campaign in fifth position, their highest-ever placing. Ward is targeting another fifth-place finish this year, although there is no reason why the club cannot close the gap further between themselves and the top four.
