Defender Kullberg signs contract extension with Brighton

Brighton & Hove Albion defender Emma Kullberg has signed a contract extension with the club ahead of the new season.

The Seagulls announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

Kullberg arrived at Brighton & Hove Albion in the January 2022 transfer window alongside her then-BK Häcken teammate Julia Zigiotti Olme. The defender has gone on to make 32 appearances for Brighton & Hove Albion in the Barclays Women’s Super League in her 18-months with the club.

The player is an important member of head coach Melissa Phillips’ squad and Brighton & Hove Albion have moved quickly to retain her services for the upcoming campaign.

After Kullberg’s new deal was announced, Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Phillips said “We’re really happy that Emma has extended her stay with us, it’s great news for her and the club.

“She adds a level of depth to the squad’s backline, being able to play across multiple positions, and is very forward thinking across them all.

“She’ll be another key asset for us as we prepare for a competitive season.”

Brighton & Hove Albion have announced new deals for both of their Swedish internationals today. Forward Zigiotti has also signed a contract extension with the Sussex club.
