London City Lionesses sign former Leicester City defender Brougham

London City Lionesses have completed the signing of former Leicester City defender Georgia Brougham on a free transfer.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this afternoon.

Brougham joins London City Lionesses after being released by former club Leicester City at the end of last season. The 27-year-old spent two seasons at The King Power Stadium in which she made 12 appearances for Leicester City in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

After losing captain Harley Bennett earlier this summer, London City Lionesses were in need of a quality replacement at the back and Brougham is a player who can step up to the challenge this season.

After completing her move to Princes Park, Brougham said “The girls have been great, they’ve really welcomed me in, and I’m really excited for the season to start.

“The coaching staff played a massive part [in my decision to join London City]. After speaking with them and seeing their vision for the Club, I felt that this would be the best environment for me.

“I’d like to say that I’m very composed. I like to build from the back and would describe myself as a ball-playing defender.”

Brougham becomes the fourth new addition at London City Lionesses this summer.
