Liverpool midfielder Ceri Holland has signed a contract extension with the club ahead of the new season.
The Reds announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.
Holland has spent the last two-and-a-half years with Liverpool after joining the club in the January 2021 transfer window. The midfielder was a Barclays Women’s Championship title-winner with The Reds in 2021/2022 while she made 19 top flight appearances for the club last season in which she scored four goals.
The Welsh international is an important player for Liverpool and the club have therefore moved to retain her services for next two years.
After extending her contract at Prenton Park, Holland said “I’m really excited to continue my journey here, it’s been fantastic since I arrived two-and-a-half years ago, so to continue my journey here and to be a part of the project for the next two years is fantastic.
“It just feels like home here. Since I arrived, I’ve absolutely loved it. The connection we have with the fans is unbelievable so [the aim is] just to continue that and hopefully continue what we’re starting here.
“I think we’re starting something very, very exciting and to continue that journey through into the training facility and everything that’s being put into the club now in terms of investment, I think is really exciting.
“We’ve signed some talented players so it’s exciting where the team is headed after a really positive season last year. We obviously want to build on that, continue to grow and challenge that top group now.”
Holland follows Yana Daniëls, Jas Matthews and Missy Bo Kearns in extending her contract with Liverpool this week.
