London City Lionesses have completed the signing of New Zealand international forward Paige Satchell on a one-year deal.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this morning.
Satchell moves to England off the back of representing New Zealand at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023. The player made one substitute appearance for The Ford Football Ferns at the tournament.
At club level, Satchell has played in her native New Zealand, Germany and Australia to date. She has most recently been on the books of Liberty A-League Women club Wellington Phoenix.
After joining London City Lionesses, Satchell said “I’m very excited to be coming to London.
“I’ve been playing professionally for about four seasons now and I think it’s a positive step to move to a new environment in England, where I will be challenged to grow and develop as a footballer. I spoke with Carolina [Morace] and Nicola [Williams] before signing with the Club and it was good to see how things are run. They took me through in quite a lot of detail about what I would experience if I joined.
“The chat was really positive and they were really excited to have me on board. Likewise, I was super-excited to speak with them and make the move to London City.”
Satchell becomes London City Lionesses’ fifth signing of the summer transfer window.
