London City Lionesses have completed the signing of former Reading goalkeeper Grace Moloney on a two-year deal.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this afternoon.
Moloney joins London City Lionesses on a free transfer after leaving former club Reading following their relegation to the Barclays Women’s Championship at the end of last season. The Republic of Ireland international made 223 appearances in her 14 years with the Berkshire club. She was always a reliable option for The Royals.
After completing her move to Princes Park, Moloney said “I’ve really enjoyed my first week with the team.
“The group has been very welcoming, I feel like I’ve been able to slot in right away, and I’m looking forward to the season now.
“After seeing the success the team had last season and the presentation put forward by the coaching staff, it’s clear that the Club is heading in the right direction and I’m looking forward to getting started.”
Moloney will compete alongside youngsters Hermoine Cull and Sophie Hillyerd for the number one goalkeeping jersey at London City Lionesses this season. She becomes London City Lionesses head coach Carolina Morace’s eighth signing of the summer transfer window.
