Leicester City have completed the signing of Finnish international forward Jutta Rantala on a two-year deal.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Foxes this morning.
Rantala joins Leicester City following a spell playing her football in Sweden with Vittsjö GIK. The forward spent the first five years of her career playing her football in her native Finland before moving to Sweden where she has represented Kristianstads and latest club Vittsjö GIK.
On the international stage, Rantala has 17 senior international caps for Finland while she has scored five goals for her country.
After joining Leicester City, Rantala said “It’s exciting to play in a new league and against some of the world’s best players. It’s a new culture here for me in England – it’s obviously different to Sweden and I’m excited to experience that.
“The facilities here at the Club are amazing and I think we have everything we need at Belvoir Drive to be able to have a successful season, so I can’t wait to get started with my new teammates.”
Rantala becomes Leicester City head coach Willie Kirk’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window. Kirk is expected to make further additions to his squad before the new season kicks-off.
