Manchester United to travel to Malta for mid-season camp

Manchester United will again travel to Malta for a mid-season training camp in early January.

The Red Devils announced news of the camp via a post on their official club website earlier today.

It has been reported that Marc Skinner will take his side to Malta in the first week of January. They will face Dutch club PSV Eindhoven in a friendly match in Paola on Friday 5 January 2023 before returning to Manchester to complete final preparations for their involvement in the fourth round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup the following weekend.

Speaking following the announcement that Manchester United are again heading to Malta, head coach Skinner said “We are delighted to be returning to the wonderful island of Malta this January.

“After such a warm welcome last year, we cannot wait to play in front of our great Maltese fans, against a top side in the form of PSV.

“My players and staff are really looking forward to a few days of hard work on the pitch, and enjoying Malta’s excellent hospitality off it.”

Manchester United took on Maltese club Birkirkara in their January 2023 tour. The Red Devils won 10-0 in-front of more than 1,000 spectators. Alessia Russo and Vilde Bøe Risa both netted braces while Lucía García, Grace Clinton, Jade Moore, Nikita Parris, Rachel Williams and Martha Thomas were also on target for Skinner’s side.
