Everton will do absolutely everything to get first home win says Sørensen

Everton manager Brian Sørensen says that his side will do absolutely everything to get their first home league win of the season this weekend.

The Blue Girls face West Ham United at Walton Hall Park on Sunday afternoon. Everton have failed to collect maximum points from any of their six home league matches so far this season.

When speaking in the pre-match press conference, Everton boss Sørensen said that his team will be doing everything in their power to finally get off the mark at Walton Hall Park.

“It’d be really nice if we can do it,” Sørensen said. “Against Leicester, we created the chances to do it but it wasn’t to be. We won’t give up, we will do absolutely everything to get our first home win of the season.

“We also have to acknowledge that we are very light at the minute with our team, so it’s going to be tough.

“They brought in really good quality in the summer upfront and now, it looks like they have balanced the midfield and the defence out, so it’s a tough challenge that we are facing.”

West Ham United arrive on Merseyside having recorded back-to-back league wins over Bristol City and Arsenal. Sørensen believes that The Hammers have improved the most with their defending since the reverse fixture a couple of months ago.

He said “Defensively, they have really good balance in that now. In attack, they have been a bit like us where they’ve created chances and not taken them.

“I think defensively, they’ve been boosted a lot. They’ve brought in players that fit how they want to play. I think it’s going to be a more complete team that we are facing.

“When we played West Ham away, we were missing seven players or something like that, we were always really struggling. We have got some of those players back and have brought in a couple of new signings. I don’t think we are that far away from competing with them at all but I know it’s going to be tough because we are really light at the moment. It is what it is, we need to get through that and try and get the three points.”
