Chelsea forward Beever-Jones promoted to England senior squad

Chelsea forward Aggie Beever-Jones has been promoted into the England senior squad for this evening’s international friendly against Austria in Algeciras, Spain.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official media update from The Football Association this evening.

Beever-Jones was a member of the England Under-23 side that have also spent time on camp in Spain this week. She has done enough to earn a first call into the senior squad from Lionesses head coach Sarina Wiegman.

At club level, the forward is enjoying a breakthrough season at Chelsea. Beever-Jones has gone out on loan to Bristol City and Everton in recent seasons to gain first team playing experience and she has forced her way into the squad at Chelsea upon her return to the club. Beever-Jones has made 10 appearances for The Blues in this season’s Barclays Women’s Super League in which she has scored five goals. The player has also made her UEFA Women’s Champions League debut for the South West Londoners this season.

Beever-Jones will now be hoping to make her mark on the senior international stage with England. The Lionesses face Austria in the first of two international friendlies to be played on neutral territory in Spain this evening. England will also take on Italy on Tuesday evening.
