Manchester United defender Le Tissier signs new deal

Manchester United defender Maya Le Tissier has signed a contract extension with the club.

The Red Devils announced the news via a post on their official club website this evening.

Le Tissier joined Manchester United from Brighton & Hove Albion in summer 2022 and she has gone on to cement her place at the heart of the team’s defence. The defender has made 59 appearances for Marc Skinner’s side in all competitions in which she has scored three goals.

The England international centre-back is a hugely important member of the team and Manchester United have therefore moved quickly to retain her services for the longer term.

After extending her contract with The Red Devils, Le Tissier said “I’m really happy to sign a contract extension with this great club and look forward to ending the season strong, while continuing to build for the future.

“A big thank you to all our fantastic fans for their great support since I joined, and I’m excited for many more winning moments together.”

Le Tissier could next pull on a Manchester United shirt when they face Tottenham Hotspur at The Leigh Sports Village on Sunday afternoon. The two sides will also contest the 2023/2024 Adobe Women’s FA Cup final at Wembley next month.
