Arsenal forward Michelle Agyemang has signed her first professional contract with the club.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Gunners this morning.
Agyemang has been on Arsenal’s books since the age of six and she has successfully negotiated her way through the various age groups to the senior squad. The 18-year-old made her senior debut for Arsenal in their 4-0 Barclays Women’s Super League victory at Leicester City last season.
This season has seen Agyemang spend time on loan with Barclays Women’s Championship club Watford to get the benefit of regular game time. She netted four goals in nine league outings for The Golden Girls.
Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall rates Agyemang extremely highly and he fully expects the player to go on to make her mark for the club in the coming years. Signing her first professional deal with the North Londoners is the next step on the player’s journey to becoming a first team regular.
After signing on with The Gunners, Agyemang said “Arsenal Football Club is like family to me, so signing a professional contract here is just incredible, it really is what dreams are made of. I’m really grateful for the opportunity and I can’t wait to continue playing for the Arsenal.”
Following the conclusion of her loan spell with Watford, Agyemang will now look to further her development with Arsenal with a view to pushing for minutes next season.
