Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall has named a youthful 19-player squad for the exhibition game against A-League Allstars.
The Gunners will go ‘Down Under’ early this week with the club’s historic fixture against the A-League Allstars scheduled to take place at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne on Friday.
It has this evening been revealed that a 19-player group will make the trip with a number of youngsters having made the cut. Almost half of the squad are under the age of 23.
Academy stars Vivienne Lia, Katie Reid, Maddy Earl, Laila Harbert and Freya Godfrey are all in the squad while young professionals Naomi Williams and Teyah Goldie will also be on the plane.
In terms of first team players to be included, England forward Alessia Russo is arguably the standout selection while Emily Fox, Kim Little, Katie McCabe, Frida Maanum, Victoria Pelova, Kathrine Kühl, Cloé Lacasse and Sarah Bouhaddi are amongst the group. There is also Australian representation in the form of Steph Catley, Caitlin Foord and Kyra Cooney-Cross.
