Brighton & Hove Albion sign Japanese international forward Seike

Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of Japanese international forward Kiko Seike.

The Seagulls announced the news via a post on their official club website this morning.

Seike joins Brighton & Hove Albion from Japanese WE League club Urawa Reds. Full terms of the deal have been left undisclosed by The Seagulls.

The 27-year-old has spent her entire playing career at Urawa Reds. She is a two-time WE League winner while she has also won the WE League Cup.

On the international stage, Seike has been capped by Japan on 21 occasions in which she has scored seven goals. Three of her national team appearances came at last summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

After adding Seike to the Brighton & Hove Albion squad, the club’s managing director of women’s and girls’ football, Zoe Johnson said “We’re delighted to welcome Kiko to the club. She comes to us with a lot of experience at the highest level in Japan, which has earned her a well-deserved place in the Olympic squad this upcoming tournament.

“We look forward to working with Kiko and seeing her career develop in the WSL.”

Seike becomes Brighton & Hove Albion’s second signing of the summer transfer window.
