Charlton Athletic midfielder Carla Humphrey has signed a contract extension with the club until summer 2026.
The Addicks announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.
Humphrey joined The Addicks last summer after leaving former club Liverpool. She made 20 appearances for the South East Londoners in the Barclays Women’s Championship in which she scored two goals. Humphrey was a member of a Charlton Athletic side that took their promotion bid into the very final day of the season.
The midfielder was one of The Addicks’ top performers last season and the club have therefore moved to extend her contract by a further year.
After signing a new deal at The Valley, Humphrey said “I was really happy last year, both on and off the pitch, so it was an easy decision for me to stay.
“The group of girls are amazing, and the staff are great. I was happy and enjoying my football, and that’s the most important thing.”
Humphrey becomes the first player to sign a contract extension with Charlton Athletic this summer. The player is set to have some new teammates in the coming weeks with head coach Karen Hills likely to bolster her squad following a number of summer departures.
