Liverpool defender Parry signs new deal

Liverpool defender Lucy Parry has signed a new contract with the club ahead of the 2024/2025 season.

The Reds announced the news via a post on their official club website this morning.

The 20-year-old is a product of the Liverpool academy system and she has forced her way into the first team picture in recent seasons.

After starring for SWPL 1 club Hibernian during a loan spell north of the border in 2022/2023, Parry made an impact upon her return to Liverpool last term. The youngster made 10 appearances for The Reds in last season’s Barclays Women’s Super League, helping the club to record a fourth-place finish.

Parry is rated highly by Liverpool manager Matt Beard and she will be hoping to increase her involvement in the team this season.

After signing on again with The Reds, Parry said “I’m delighted. I’m just really excited to keep pushing. This is where I want to be and I’m happy, so I think this is the best place for me to do it.

“I’ve been here since I was seven, a shy little girl just wanting to express myself through football. I’ve been a Liverpool fan my whole life, growing up and watching my idols play. I had a season ticket, I remember watching the women’s team play at Widnes and my family are all Reds.

“We are all excited and Reds through and through.”

Parry is the first player to sign a contract extension with Liverpool this summer.
